Testimonials

After attending an Australasian conference on Hospital Safety and Security with my clients, I met Jim Snipe who was both conference Chair and facilitated a workshop seeking solutions to the worldwide issue of OVA,
Allied Security formed a partnership with Five Arcs to develop and deliver a bespoke training program for our staff, initially focused on the Health Sector.
Given the success and expertise of the training package developed, we have now expanded this program to our entire workforce, totalling in excess of 1800 staff.
Jim’s expertise and leadership has been invaluable taking our business and training methodologies to the forefront of the NZ Security industry.
Since we implemented the Five Arcs methodology it has played a critical role in our staff development, whilst i have no doubt playing a key role in increasing our business revenue by in excess of $25 million over the past year.
Jim’s Five Arcs’ training methodology is now at the forefront of how our business operates and will play a key role in the evolution of our continual Australasian expansion.
— Chris McDowall GM Operations Allied Security
You were the last speaker at the Conference, which is possibly the toughest spot, as normally people are looking to leave. However, no-one left during your talk, and what is even more amazing, is that they all stayed after you had finished to ask you questions.

Now in my thirty years of doing this I’ve been to many Conferences in my time and have spoken at many myself, and I have to say that was unique, but the reason is obvious.

Your talk was not only interesting and informative in terms of the information you presented, the manner in which you presented it was engaging, humorous and energetic, which are all traits of a great public speaker.

So for that I thank you, as you definitely added a lot of value to that day and showed us [NFPS Ltd] in a very good light.
— Mark Dawes - Director. NFPS

As a presenter and co facilitator at previous conferences, I know that it is a very difficult task to engage such a large diverse audience, and I would like to commend you on this.
Your professionalism combined with your clear knowledge in the area of risk assessment and management and your ability to not only engage but maintain that engagement throughout the day was admirable.

Your presentation style was very clear and precise and most informative and I look forward to obtaining additional information regarding your program once the presentation slides become available from the conference.

We work in a very demanding and complex field and it is always very encouraging to meet with fellow clinicians that maintain such passion for what they do

Jim has been running sessions for our 3rd and 5th year medical students on aggression management. Safety of clinicians is often neglected in training curriculum and the addition to Jim to our wellbeing program has been greatly appreciated by our medical student cohort. Comments from our students in formal feedback forms include:

”The aggression module was very engaging and the highlight.”
The de-escalation session was engaging and provided realistic insight into what might go wrong in hospitals.”
”I found the session related to effective communication/de-escalation really engaging.”,
”I also enjoyed the de-escalation talk which I thought was very informative and though provoking as well as being interactive and fun to participate in.

We are developing a basic aggression management module for the School of Primary and Allied Health Care at Monash University. I was introduced to Jim by my physiotherapy colleague at the Alfred and due to his expertise, he has become the aggression management consultant for our project.

Jim is very committed, extremely well qualified and experienced in the area of aggression management. Whenever I have a query he answers questions quickly, confidently and sends me links to the relevant available evidence. This means we have been able to develop an interactive module based on the best available research in the area.

We are excited to have Jim on the team as we evaluate the module in a randomised controlled trial - the first one we are aware of in health professional education. Thank you so much Jim! In gratitude,
— Kristin Lo Senior Lecturer Physiotherapy Monash University

Jim Snipe is without a doubt one of Australia and the UK’s finest trainers in the field of healthcare aggression management. I’ve had the great pleasure to interview Jim for the Managing Violence Podcast, as well as consult with him and pick his brain on a number of projects surrounding occupational violence and aggression. I am always impressed with Jim’s depth of knowledge, empathy for all concerned, and pragmatic approach to addressing all of the challenges presented by the multi-pronged beast that is OVA.
