Whilst I would consider myself an experienced trainer and facilitator, presenting at conferences seemed a daunting prospect.

I finally took the plunge and cut my teeth in the world of presenting! Please see the list of presentations below.

  • Managing violence Podcast – Guest presenter 2019.Title : Clinical aggression  Most listened to podcast of series 

  • Criterion August 2019 Improving Hospital Safety & Security Conference – Chairperson for one day.  

    Presented a one day workshop: ‘How to de-escalate incidents & apply appropriate physical interventions’  

    and presented: ‘Accessible aggression management training for all staff to improve incident reduction & staff safety’ 

  •   Safe and Secure Hospital & Healthcare Worker Conference - Title- ”So…. what is your favourite position… and how long does it last”? Why we need to talk about physical restraint:

    • Restraint is a last resort …but it needs to be done safely

    • Both service user and staff are at risk

    • Timings – are they written in stone?

    • Positions – are they safe?

    • Do we do as trained…all of the time?

    • Is your training reviewed and assessed?
